Privacy policy

Kitten Room is a virtual kitten app for small children. This policy explains what the app does with information.
In short: Kitten Room collects no data. Everything it saves stays on your device.
We collect no data
The app has no internet permission, so nothing can leave the device. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, no accounts, no analytics and no third-party services that collect data.
What stays on your device
The app saves a few things in its private storage on the phone so it can remember them between visits:
- Parent Zone settings: Kid Lock, the session timer, bedtime, music, sound effects, vibration, reduce motion, missions and the age profile.
- The grown-up pattern, stored only as a salted SHA-256 hash and never in clear text, and the optional hint you type for it.
- Ginger’s colours, accessories, stickers, mood bars and missions, and the time of the last visit, so she can greet you after a long break.
None of this is sent anywhere. Android’s backup is switched off for the app, so it is not copied to your Google account either.
Deleting your data
Reset Ginger’s stickers and colours in the Parent Zone clears her progress. Clearing the app’s data in Android Settings (Apps, Kitten Room, Storage) or uninstalling the app removes everything.
Permissions
The app asks for one permission: VIBRATE, for the little haptic taps that answer every touch. It does not use the camera, microphone, location, contacts or files.
Children
Kitten Room is designed for children aged 2 to 6 and follows the Google Play Families Policy. It collects no personal information from children or anyone else. Kid Mode has no ads, no purchases and no links out of the app. The Parent Zone, behind a grown-up pattern, holds only the settings, this policy and the credits.
Open-source software
Kitten Room is built with open-source libraries (Google Filament, AndroidX and Kotlin) that run on the device and do not collect data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
